What makes this piece worth knowing about

Kerry
  • Listed individually

Every specimen is listed as itself. The piece in the photo is the piece that ships; no stand-ins, no stock shots. Tumbles and batch pieces are the one exception, stated plainly on the listing.
  • Origin disclosed

Every piece in our collection comes with its country and region of origin. Where it came from affects its quality, colour, and formation; so we always tell you.
  • Formation explained

We tell you how your crystal formed; whether hydrothermal, igneous, sedimentary, or volcanic. Understanding formation helps you appreciate what you're actually holding.
  • Checked before listing

Share blog posts, products, or promotions with your customers. Use this text to describe products, share details on availability and style, or as a space to display recent reviews or FAQs.
  • Hardness stated

Every listing includes the Mohs hardness rating so you know exactly how durable your crystal is and how to care for it properly.
  • Treatment transparency

Natural means natural here. If a crystal has been heat treated, dyed, irradiated, or coated, it's stated clearly on the listing. No hidden enhancements, ever.
We checked. It's real.
The geology is the story.

FAQ

You asked, we answered!
  • The Mohs scale runs from 1 (softest: talc) to 10 (hardest: diamond). It tells you how scratch-resistant your crystal is. A 7 (like quartz) is durable for display and handling. A 3 (like calcite) needs more careful storage. We include the rating so you know how to look after it.

  • Yes, unless the listing states otherwise. Most of our products are individually listed and photographed, so what you see is what you get. For multi-packs or tumbles sold by weight, the listing will say so clearly.

  • Absolutely. Our packaging is clean and presentable. If you'd like a gift note included, add a note at checkout and we'll include it.

  • Every listing on The Crystal Showroom clearly states whether a crystal is 100% natural or has been treated in any way; heat treatment, dyeing, irradiation, or coating. If the listing says natural, it means natural. Check the product description above for the treatment status of this specific piece.

  • Care varies by mineral. As a general rule, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, keep away from water unless you know your specific crystal is water-safe, and store separately to avoid scratching. Check the product description for the hardness rating, this tells you how durable your crystal is.

  • Origin matters because different regions produce crystals with distinct characteristics. Uruguayan amethyst has deeper colour saturation than Brazilian. Madagascan labradorite has different flash quality to Finnish. We always state the country and region so you know exactly what you're getting and why it looks the way it does.
