  • The Mohs scale runs from 1 (softest: talc) to 10 (hardest: diamond). It tells you how scratch-resistant your crystal is. A 7 (like quartz) is durable for display and handling. A 3 (like calcite) needs more careful storage. We include the rating so you know how to look after it.

  • Yes, unless the listing states otherwise. Most of our products are individually listed and photographed, so what you see is what you get. For multi-packs or tumbles sold by weight, the listing will say so clearly.

  • Absolutely. Our packaging is clean and presentable. If you'd like a gift note included, add a note at checkout and we'll include it.

  • Care varies by mineral, and the Mohs hardness on every listing is your best guide. As a general rule: keep colour-sensitive stones like amethyst and fluorite out of prolonged direct sunlight, store softer pieces away from harder ones so they aren't scratched, and handle fine points as little as possible. On water, most crystals are fine for a rinse; only a small number genuinely need to stay dry, and we've written a full guide to which is which.

  • Origin matters because different regions produce crystals with distinct characteristics. Uruguayan amethyst has deeper colour saturation than Brazilian. Madagascan labradorite has different flash quality to Finnish. We always state the country and region so you know exactly what you're getting and why it looks the way it does.
