Two minerals here, one metal. Azurite and malachite are both copper carbonates, and the blue and the green come from the same copper atoms arranged differently.
The difference is how much water is locked into the structure. Azurite holds less and comes out deep blue. Malachite holds more and comes out green. Nothing was added and nothing was dyed; the colour split is built into the chemistry.
Copper deposits produce both because both form in the same place, where copper ore near the surface reacts with carbonate-rich groundwater. Finding them on one piece is normal. Finding them sharply separated is what makes a piece worth keeping.
Azurite alters to malachite in heat or damp, so keep this somewhere dry and stable and out of direct sun. Copper carbonates are toxic if swallowed. Dust rather than wash, keep it away from children and pets, and wash your hands after handling.
